Saw Blade Tension Rig

Saw Blade Tension

We Develop the Strongest Fret Saws
on Earth, and Can Prove It!

We built a system to test how much tension—in number of pounds—any given saw frame could actually put on a blade. And guess which saw frames came out on top... that’s right, Knew Concepts saw frames!

Why is tension important? Simple. To hold a skinny piece of wire with teeth as tight as it possibly can. The whole point is to hold that little saw blade in place accurately, so the teeth go where the frame points them. To give you control.

Artist Spotlight

James Miller, FIPG

James Miller is a good friend and valued collaborator going back to the days of the very earliest prototype saws. Over the years, his suggestions for improvements and tweaks have pushed us towards developing improvements like the lever tensioning system, and the swiveling blade clamps. He’s even helped us cook up the Titanium Soldering Clamps.
